BAE SYSTEMS Property Services withdraw the planning application after Medway council and Sport England refuse to change their stance on the planning application, despite overwhelming support from the Club members for the plans to go ahead.

Statement regarding Planning Application MC2008/2021

Further to our recent notices and press releases, I can inform you that the planning application MC2008/2021 relating to the Rochester Sports and Social Club has been withdrawn and will not be considered at the Planning Committee on 11 March 2008.

BAE have withdrawn the application as Medway Council and Sport England require additional supporting information and BAE remain focussed on a negotiated planning consent which is mutually acceptable to all parties, rather than exploring a refusal or appeal situation which could set sides against each other when all parties are trying so hard to find a positive solution and save the club.
