The
BAE SYSTEMS Model railway Club has been established for 19
years.
We
have a small clubroom situated in the social club, and we
meet every Thursday night.
The
aim of the club is to promote the world of model railways,
but this encompasses such a large span regarding railways
in general, that on club nights many subjects regarding railways
and modelling are discussed.
In
the 19 years that we have been established we have completed
a large “N” Gauge layout, and are currently re-building a
portable “00” layout, complete with all the scenic details.
The
second layout under re- construction is a large SM32 live
steam layout that has grown over the years and has proved
to be very popular at exhibitions.
Both
these layouts have been designed to be transported to exhibition
sites. As well as being available to club members to practice
they driving skills on Thursday nights.
We
try to promote the skills that are required in building a
model railway. This could be in build the baseboard, laying
the track, building the scenic details, and most people's
nightmare, the electric's.
We
are a very friendly group, with an age group from 10 to senior
citizens and are always ready to welcome new members who have
an interest, no matter how small, in the world of model railways.
For
more details please contact our secretary Mr G Harvey on 01634
271239 or call in on a Thursday night.
