We will update the thermometer below as we get more members in.

WE HAVE NOW REACHED THE TARGET OF 150 EXTRA MEMBERS, MEANING THAT WE WILL BE OPEN FOR 2010. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED. WE ARE STILL TANKING ON NEW MEMBERS IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE CLUB AND REDUCE THE DEBT FOR 2011.

STATEMENT FOLLOWING THE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 30th NOVEMBER

Congratulations!

We announced on 1st December that the Club has now reached its minimum membership level of 900 members and this means the club can now not only stay open, but operate as an organisation separate to BAE Systems.

Over the last 6 days, a little more than 150 members signed up. This was the result of tremendous effort by every member of the Committee and by many of the member’s, thank you to all those who made this happen.

In addition, we want to thank you, the members, all 900, for becoming members, being committed to the Club and for showing your support.

What happens next? The Committee has met and has agreed that we must not lose the energy and continue to increase the membership. Increasing the membership means that we can reduce the £35,000 debt to something more manageable and therefore continue to invest and improve the facility.

A new thermometer will be placed on the notice board, which will indicate how many more new members we require to clear all the outstanding debt, this will be updated regularly.

Members will also be asked over the next couple of weeks to come up with some suggestions for the new name to the Club for next year. Please submit your ideas to the Club no later than Friday 18th December 2009.

So well done everyone, but please support the Committee and Andy in the challenge to continue to increase the membership.
